Job Description

As an Ophthalmic Assistant, Certified Ophthalmic Assistant, or Certified Ophthalmic Technician we are looking for you if you: 
Have a high degree of technical skill in caring for patients in an ophthalmic clinic.
Feel comfortable interacting positively with physicians, coworkers, patients, and patients’ families
Are adept at making decisions based on established methods, policies, and procedures
Are physically able to stand for long periods of time as well as walk, bend, reach, push, and lift equipment and patients
Have excellent communication skills, written and oral, with staff, doctors and patients.
Are personable; empathetic with patient's needs and concerns.
Are well-organized with attention to detail.
Demonstrate computer literacy.
Are able to perform all skills for clinical examinations for your specialty that may entail and not limited to, performing measurements and tasks including visual acuity, manual lensometry, automated lensometry, perform confrontation visual fields, super pinhole testing, glare and contrast testing, motility, pupillary function tests, Applanation with Goldmann, Perkins and/or Tonopen, refractometry, osmolarity testing for dry eyes, assess angles w/ slit lamp, proper insertion of eye drops for dilation, pachymetry, auto refractor, OCT, fundus camera, topography.
Clean and organize work areas.
Report any broken and malfunctioning equipment to the lead.

These are the kinds of things you can expect to do on a regular basis if you are chosen to join our team as an Ophthalmic Assistant: 
Obtain patient histories through interviews and intake assessments, making note of findings in EHR
Maintain rooms, including cleaning as necessary
Interact with all patients using a high level of respect and professionalism

Skills/ Requirements 
A high-school diploma or equivalent
Prior Ophthalmic Assistant training preferred but willing to train.
CPR certification
