We are currently hiring for a Director of Human Resources who is responsible for the overall administration, coordination and evaluation of the human resources function. This position directs staff in the areas of organizational structure, employment, compensation, employee database maintenance, payroll, benefits administration, employee relations, orientation/training/development, and policy/procedure development. Oversees development and monitoring of the human resources division budget.  

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Design, develop, recommend and implement strategies to support, improve and strengthen the HR department and services

Leads positive employee relations efforts within all facilities; consult with supervisors to manage complex and sensitive employee relations

Leads Performance Review efforts in all departments; assists executive management in the annual review, preparation and administration of annual performance program

Promotes career development opportunities to assist with retention and organizational design

Conducts annual review of compensation plans for all employees and pay initiatives

Executes staffing and on-boarding processes for all levels of employees

Coordinates or conducts exit interviews to determine reasons behind separation

Annually reviews compliance with corporate level policies and federal/state government agencies and makes recommendations to executive management for improvement of the agency’s policies, procedures and practices on personnel matters

Communicated benefits, policy and other HR related changes

Trains and coaches management/supervisory staff in interviewing, hiring, performance reviews, counseling, diversity, disciplinary and regulatory compliance

Maintains knowledge of industry trends and employment legislation and ensures compliance

Consults with managers and supervisors to provide support for recruitment, interviewing and selection of candidates, promoting diversity as a criterion for candidate consideration

Manages all employees of the department and is responsible for the performance management and hiring of the employees within that department

Oversees and manages maintenance of changes to the HRIS records and files

Analyzes data and produces reports, documents and surveys. Designs, maintains and produces a variety of queries, reports, surveys and documents, as requested

Ensures effective communication between HR/Payroll and Finance.

Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-area and overnight travel may be expected

METHOD AND FREQUENCY OF SUPERVISION:

Responsible for participation and updates to the executive management team, CEO/CFO, and Managing Partners, as requested.

Skills / Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:

Must have demonstrated proficiency with applicable laws/regulations and management theories, including policy/procedure development, strong organizational skills in the areas of operations, budget and project administration; effective interface with diverse groups and effective supervisory skills.

EDUCATION/ CERTIFICATION:

Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Human Resources or related field

An advance degree or equivalent years’ experience preferred

PHR/SPHR Certification and/or SHRM-CP/SHRM SCP desired

Additional related training preferred

PRIOR EXPERIENCE:

6-10 years’ progressive experience in a Human Resources Generalist role

A minimum of 5 years’ experience at a senior management level in a high volume environment

Experience with multi-site responsibilities and hands-on responsibility for the full scope of human resources activities, both operations and analysis

 

SKILLS/ ABILITIES:

Advanced understanding of human resource functions

Knowledge of all related computer applications to include Microsoft Office applications

Understanding of human resource reporting and recordkeeping requirements

Well versed in employment and recruiting and core competencies of communication, human resource development, management, and planning

Well organized, must be able to multi-task and have excellent oral, written and interpersonal skills

Excellent communications and public relations abilities, must be able to interact effectively with all levels

Ability to follow and understand the company Core Values and behaviors

Ability to sit for long periods. Work requires walking, bending, standing, sitting, lifting and reaching
